Haier, the parent company of GE, is developing a 5" LCD central controller for the North American market.


I led a team of 2 designers in the redesign of the control system, user flows, information architecture, and mobile experience, aligning them with GE's brand-centric style. This collaborative effort involved working closely with a cross-national product development team.


The product made its debut at the AHR Expo 2022 and is scheduled for launch in 2023.

Localizing thermostat control system for the North American market

GE Central controller is a thermostat that lets you control both ductless split and unitary ducted HVAC systems in one place. it also provide seamless remote controls with SmartHQ app.

As part of Haier's initiative for the North American market, there was a compelling need to transform the 5" LCD central controller, a product under the GEA umbrella. Three reasons drove this redesign effort:
